Christmas in St. Joseph’s
St. Joseph’s School Choir enters Lyric FM Choirs for Christmas Competition
St. Joseph’s School Choir was formed in 1998 and has, in the current school year, approx. 41 students from 5th and 6th classes. The Choir rehearses every Tuesday from 1.30 p.m. – 2.30 p.m. Our Choir Teacher is Ms. Helen Colbert.
St. Joseph’s School Choir performs for the school community regularly and at many local events to include the turning on of the Christmas Lights in Tipperary Town, Carol Singing Downtown in aid of the St. Vincent de Paul and by invitation to other local events.
The School Choirs at St. Joseph’s have made many CDs over recent years to include 2 Christmas CDs and 2 Springtime CDs, and indeed were featured on the Lyric FM Christmas CD in 2012 with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra.
This is the Choir’s 9th time entering the ‘Lyric FM Choirs for Christmas Competition’ and we were thrilled and delighted to be runners-up in our section in Dec. 2011, and winners in 2014 and 2017.
In 2018 we were invited to sing at the Launch of the St. Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal in Dublin in the company of Ryan Tubridy. We had a fantastic time.
We are thrilled to see the return of Choirs for Christmas once more and to partake in the competition.
We hope you enjoy our song for this year; it’s called Christmastime, That Special Time of Year.

Webinar for Parents 16th June- “Children and the Digital World – How Much is Too Much?”
FREE Webinar
presented by Ciara O`Donoghue,

Thursday 16th June at 7pm
Even though children sometimes seem to understand technology better than adults do, they need guidance on how to use technology in a responsible and positive way.
Our children are currently engaged in the digital world to be educated, stay connected with friends and play games. Research suggests that adults who understand online safety and are able to use technology are more successful in guiding children’s digital use.
Therefore, it is beneficial for parents and caregivers, especially with school holidays approaching, to receive information on online safety, and advice on how to help children manage online risks.
