Recent Darts Fundraiser for Joseph Beag, ASD Pre-School

My son Kyle is 4 and he was diagnosed with having Autistic Spectrum Disorder last year.
He attends preschool in Joseph Beag which is in St Joseph’s Primary School and is a special class for children between the ages of 3 and 5 who have Autism. It is run by Principal Ms. Louise Tobin in  Tipperary Town.

Kyle absolutely loves his pre-school. The staff there are amazing. His teacher is Mr. Michael Mc Evoy and his SNAS are Molly Maher and Julie Webb.

We are so grateful that he is being so well looked after we wanted to do something for the school.

Kyle’s grandad is Mike Smith Treasurer of Tipperary Darts Club and he agreed to run a  tournament to raise funds for the ASD preschool at St. Josephs.
On November 5th in Cahir House Hotel 33 teams turned up. It was a very successful day with a total of €3500 raised.

We would love like to say a special thank you to Alice Sheehan a friend of the Smith family who also has an involvement in Tipperary Darts she alone raised €1200. We would also like to thank every dart player that turned up on the day and made the tournament a huge success.

Words by Stacey Smith.

Thank you:
Ms. Tobin, Principal of St. Josephs would like to say a huge Thank You to Mike and Stacey Smith and Alice Sheehan for all their work to make this fundraiser so successful.
Ms. Tobin called to Cahir House on the day of the tournament and the Ballroom was buzzing with very happy darts players having a great day out for a great cause.
The staff of Joseph Beag are delighted to go shopping for much needed special equipment, toys and resources for the pupils in the preschool. Thank you to all involved.

Student Council

St. Joseph’s School  Student Council

The voice of the pupils, that’s what the Student Council can be described as.  Pupils from 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th classes are the representatives of all the classes. Principal Ms. Tobin and the Student Council meet regularly to talk about goings-on in the school and future developments they might engage in.  We also organise fund raisers for the school and charities e.g. cake sale for the Laura Lynn foundation.  We take suggestions from the whole school and try to make them happen.

Match Report for U-13 ‘C’ Ladies County Football Final 20/11/2017

On Monday 20th November the U-13 ‘C’Ladies Football Co. Final was played in Leahy Park in Cashel. St. Joseph’s Girls Primary School Tipperary town contested the final against Moyne National School. At the outset, weather conditions were very challenging with persistent drizzle and wind throughout the game. This did not dampen the enthusiasm of the large group of St. Joseph’s supporters nor the commitment of both teams who produced a fine display of football.

St. Joseph’s lined out as follows; Weronika Kowalczyk, Aishling O’ Donnell, Anna O’Brien, Eva Cremins(1-1), Emer Roche (0-1)(Capt.), Orla Kissane, Ellen Corby(0-2) Subs; Eabha Byrnes, Kate Cremins, Eva Donovan, Anna English, Kayleigh McGrath and Emma O’ Connor.

St. Joseph’s got off to a promising start with a sharp point by Emer Roche but Moyne swiftly responded with a succession of scores and St. Joseph’s trailed by five points at half-time. A determined St. Joseph’s team battled very hard in the second half, and points by Ellen Corby cut into Moyne’s lead. Aisling O’ Donnell, Emer Roche and Anna O’Brien combined in defence to set up fantastic attacking passages of play which eventually resulted in a superb goal by Eva Cremins. St. Joseph’s were denied equalising chances in the final minutes of the game by an experienced Moyne side who held on to win this enthralling encounter by a margin of just one goal.

All players for St. Joseph’s can be very proud of their performance on the day and the team would like to thank Miss Tobin (Principal), Miss Dunne, Miss O’Grady, Helen Cremins and Ritchie Lohan for their involvement with the team.
