Here is a list of websites you, as a parent, may find useful to assist your child with their learning. All websites worked when this list was printed.
These websites are not associated with our school website, and content on them cannot be monitored by us. Therefore, we have no responsibility for websites working properly or their content. Some may require a paid subscription, and some may require you to sign up for a free account.
It is important to note that children accessing any website should do so under parental control.
The list is divided into curricular areas to make it easier to search.
Gaeilge
• https://padlet.com/maire8/3iyk97sx3v3wx82z – Lots of lovely picture books in Irish. These books are labelled Junior Infants to 2nd class, aimed specifically at Irish-medium and Gaeltacht schools but are suitable for use in all primary schools. Some children might like to try reading books for a lower class level.
• https://www.scoilnet.ie/ – Scoilnet is a great website, it is website for schools, teachers and children in Ireland with loads and loads of links and resources across all the subject areas.
• https://www.primaryhomeworkhelp.co.uk/ – Woodlands Junior School (school in England)—they have some interesting resources, especially science. An amazing array of activities in all subject areas, including online games to practise skills in Maths and English.
• Children’s Section of Áras an Uachtaráin – see inside the Áras, learn about the President (Who is He, What Does He Do, Where Does He Live) and then take the quiz and test your knowledge: https://president.ie/en/childrens-section
• Dublinia – a fully interactive tour where you can learn all about the Viking and Mediaeval history of Dublin: https://dublinia.ie/online-learning/
You can create your own quizzes or get your child to create some. Alternatively, here are a few websites that have ready-made quizzes.
• EdPuzzle – Free to sign up and you can search through hundreds of quizzes made by teachers: https://edpuzzle.com/
• Kahoot – another place to find free quizzes on practically any topic – can be used as a learning tool for parents. An email is needed if you want to create an account for password reset, if required. Otherwise, choose to play as a guest. www.kahoot.com
