The New Primary Curriculum

Parents/Guardians,

You may be aware that the primary curriculum is changing and will continue to change over the coming years. The new primary curriculum recognises the key role parents and guardians play in their child’s education and promotes a partnership approach which will encourage increased communication between schools and parents/guardians.

Please see the attached leaflet which outlines some of these changes in more detail.

Free Schoolbooks for pupils in Primary Schools

From September 2023, schoolbooks, workbooks and copybooks for children in primary schools, including special schools, will be provided to every child free by their school. There is no charge to parents/guardians for this, as schools receive funding from Government to cover these costs.

We take great pride in ensuring that our school setting is an inclusive, safe and happy environment to enable all our pupils thrive and reach their potential.

To date, we have welcomed a dozen girls from war torn Ukraine to our school.

Please see two articles, recently featured in The Nationalist and The Irish Times which highlight the great work being done by all staff here at St. Joseph’s.
